Our fully listed client seeks interim assistance at Company Secretary level to cover a recruitment gap for up to 12 months. The current Company Secretary will retire at the end of 2021, and long term the duties will be handed to the General Counsel, but as there are many governance and structural projects and changes in process at the moment, they would like an experienced interim Company Secretary to come in from September 2021 ideally in order to take a handover from the current Company Secretary and to “hold the fort”, until the duties can be passed on during the course of 2022.
The Interim Company Secretary will undertake a full-service PLC company secretarial role to the Board and management team. The role will also include being Company Secretary to a number of other, mainly dormant, subsidiaries. During the second half of this assignment it is expected that the Interim Company Secretary will assist the group in setting up revised structures and teams to accommodate the transition of the role to the permanent company secretary, including managing a structured and timely handover to the permanent company secretary.
It is expected that the role will be a blend of working from home and being present at the Company’s offices in Lancashire. Whilst new ways of working are being developed as the country emerges from the pandemic, it is likely that office-based days will average 2-3 days per week depending on relevant matters. A detailed job description is available on request.
