FTSE 250 listed, our client seeks to recruit an experienced Assistant Secretary to join their team. The HQ is based in Essex ( a ten minute walk from the station and parking is available for those who prefer to drive). These are brand new offices opening in August 2021. Flexible “semi remote” working arrangements will be offered going forward after covid restrictions are lifted. This role reports to the GC/CoSec who is mainly focussed on the legal role, so this role will suit someone experienced who can take charge of all the day to day work in a FTSE 250 environment. You will have the assistance of 3 people (2 who are part time) who already ably support on many of the routine administrative tasks, meeting organisation, board support etc. 

You will be required to promote high standards of regulatory compliance and support the organisation on range of corporate governance / company secretarial matters in a varied role.

You will work closely with the executive team including the CEO and MDs to provide high quality board support and take ownership of corporate governance requirements including statutory compliance and corporate policies.

The successful candidate is likely to have the following skills and attributes;

  • ACIS/GradICSA status

  • Significant prior experience in a similar role

  • Strong working knowledge of governance principles with excellent organisational and interpersonal skills as you will be engaging with board members and key stakeholders

  • Knowledge of company secretarial procedures and appropriate technical skills, including in relation to the interpretation of the Company Act 2006 and other relevant legislation

  • Articulate with a high level of written English

  • Fully conversant with Microsoft packages
