Company Secretarial Assistants usually reports into a Deputy or Assistant Co-Sec depending on the team structure.
A Company Secretarial Assistant is usually Part qualified or recently qualified with 1-2 years’ experience in a Co-Sec role although in some cases it can be more. They are often Degree Educated but not always. Excellent written and verbal communication.
Typical Responsibilities of a Company Secretarial Assistant
Ensure correct compliance with Companies Act:
Registering – changes to Directors, Secretaries, Addresses, Share Transactions, Share Allotments, Striking Off applications
Lodge all statutory forms with Registrar of Companies where relevant
Production of Dormant Company Accounts
Assist with coordination of Statutory Accounts for trading companies
Online filing of Confirmation Statements
Prepare Minutes and Board Packs
Assist with management of statutory information held within Co-Sec Software
Dealing with ad hoc queries from group companies/clients
