Our client, a mutual building society, are seeking to recruit an Assistant Company Secretary on a permanent basis. Reporting directly to the Deputy Company Secretary, you will provide a full range company secretarial and governance services, ensuring best practice is adopted at all times. Responsibilities will include;
Support the electronic distribution of Board papers
Prepare meeting agendas
Attend committee meetings, draft minutes and follow through action points
Support the delivery of ad-hoc corporate governance projects to plan and to time
Support the team responsible for the annual general meeting.
The team are based in Cardiff and are adopting a hybrid working model, so some time will be needed in the office, whilst the rest can be done from home/remotely.
This role would suit someone studying the Chartered Governance Institute qualification (continued study support will be provided) along with having a background in governance or secretariat services. You'll need strong interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate effectively as you'll be working with the Board and Executive team members on a daily basis.
