Our client is a speciality insurance service provider, which seeks an experienced professional to join on a part-time basis to work closely with, and to support/mentor the Assistant Corporate Secretary.
The core purpose of the role is to operate as Company Secretary and provide complete corporate secretariat support to clients (c. 30 non-listed companies). A full job description and list of duties is available on request.
They are ideally seeking someone to work 3 days per week, and they can be very flexible on how the hours are worked. The role is offered on a hybrid basis, as part of the role is Board facing and in order to mentor the Assistant, they would prefer 1 day per week in the office so that there is face to face time to develop relationships, although this requirement can be relaxed/more flexible if needed.
The successful candidate is likely to have at least 5 years’ experience, ideally gained in a professional services environment. They are looking for someone to work hand in hand with the Assistant Corporate Secretary, and to support and mentor her as she learns more about company secretarial matters. The business would prefer not have to outsource this co sec client service work to lawyers, hence the plan to bring in a more experienced professional on a part time basis to support the business with the more senior level expertise. They have minute takers in house and 80% of the client boards are covered by them, the remaining 20% is covered by the Co Sec/Asst Corp Sec.
You should be happy working in a small team and be willing to roll your sleeves up and confidently tackle a mix of of the more basic/mundane day-to-day cosec activities (using Diligent) during busy periods and holiday times, as well as providing a safe pair of hands to offer more senior level advice as required by clients.
