Our client seeks an individual with strong company secretarial skills acquired in a legal or professional services environment to join their team. The CGI qualification is not a requirement if the individual is qualified by experience. Study support is available after successful completion of a probationary period. The successful candidate will assist the head of the department.
A full job description is available on request, the role is varied in nature and the responsibilities will include the following:
- Assisting the Company Secretarial Department Manager with all aspects of the management of the department including:
- Setting company secretarial standards and policies for the firm
- Overseeing the department budget and setting client fees
- Responsibility for a portfolio of clients, both the provision of an annual compliance service and event driven transactions
- Providing advice and assistance to other departments within the firm and other members of the Company Secretarial team
- Providing training within the Company Secretarial team and the wider firm, as necessary
- Assisting with drafting precedents and other documents
- Other ad hoc duties in line with the role
The successful candidate is likely to have extensive experience working in a company secretarial department within a practice environment. Experience of managing people is desirable, but not a requirement. You should demonstrate the following qualities:

- Ability to work quickly and accurately when under pressure
This role will be offered on a hybrid basis, the firm has no set requirements, they tend to leave it to each team to decide what works best for that team. Currently the Secretariat team does three days a week in the office, with Wednesdays as their “anchor” day, the other days to suit individuals, but they try to make sure a minimum of 2 people are in each day, so no one comes into the office to find no other colleagues onsite!
